Friction. It’s a force of nature.
At its most elemental, it resists the motion of one surface against another.
But friction isn’t just a physical phenomenon. It exists beyond what we can see and measure.
Friction is also a psychological force that can impede change.
Friction, by definition, slows us down.
But that’s not always bad. Good friction — caused when we interact with others with diverse perspectives and contrasting objectives — can be a source of inspiration.
Good friction generates energy and compels a fresh approach.
We dramatically underestimate its power. If we hope to create the conditions for positive change, we must acknowledge and embrace Friction.
