HAMZAH SHANBARI | Failure Is Not an Option, It’s a Necessity
As Director of Innovation for the Haskell Company, a global leader in architecture, engineering and construction solutions, Hamzah Shanbari has learned that innovation is the never-ending pursuit of getting better, incrementally and consistently. It’s not an overnight success, or a one time application, and the first thing that kills it is the focus on return on investment (ROI). He believes that the talk around innovation needs to be much broader, with a much higher tolerance for failures. Innovative organizations cultivate a culture that embraces early and fast failures in order to build on the learnings and achieve greater results in any field.
Hamzah Shanbari is the Director of Innovations at Haskell where he oversees vetting and testing new applications of technology both in the office and on the job site. Hamzah joined Haskell in 2016 shortly after completing his Ph.D. in Design, Construction and Planning from the University of Florida. Starting out as a Virtual Construction Specialist, Hamzah conducted several successful BIM coordination efforts. He also led innovation projects in virtual and augmented reality as well as sUAS processes and applications. Hamzah published and presented several conference and journal papers on laser scanning, sUAS, augmented reality and construction management education.
