What is TEDx? In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxJacksonville, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxJacksonville event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

Mama Blue | Sultry Sister of Soul

Mama Blue is captivating, grounded and genuine. Her insightful lyrics and renditions, coupled with old school sophistication will take you back … to the future. Her signature sound is reminiscent of legends such as Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughn and Etta James. Hailing from Jacksonville, a graduate of Douglas Anderson, with a scholarship to Jacksonville University in vocal performance, Mama Blue’s singing is rooted in blues and jazz, with hints of Motown, classical, Latin and even a bit of country. With over 25 years of experience in a variety of genres, her multi-cultured band fits like a glove.
