What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxJacksonville, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxJacksonville event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
At the core of TED’s mission is “ideas worth spreading.” This year, the ideas from our October 24th conference will spread faster than ever before. If you have been interested in attending our conference in the past, but the expense or location dissuaded you, now you’ve got two fantastic ways to experience the event!
TEDxJacksonville will be the first TEDx conference ever to be live streamed globally on YouTube — at YouTube.com/TEDxTalks. Save the date and mark your calendars for October 24th, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Share the news with your friends and family. Whether you are joining us live, or watching from home, we are excited to invite you to be part of this live global broadcast of TEDxJacksonville on the TEDx YouTube channel.
With the gracious help of our sponsors and the Jacksonville Public Library, we will be live streaming our conference to two local libraries, Webb Wesconnett and University Park for FREE. Seating will be limited, so we invite you to register for the livestream at either location below:
