What is TEDx? In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxJacksonville, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxJacksonville event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

TEDxJacksonville is a grass-roots event organized by local volunteers who care deeply about creating a better future for our community. We receive funding from leading individuals and organizations in Jacksonville and Northeast Florida who believe in the power of ideas to change the world and our community. In exchange, we provide promotional benefits and immense gratitude to each of our partners.

Financial partnerships to TEDxJacksonville are applied directly to our event production costs, which pale in comparison to the incredible in-kind support we receive from local businesses and the countless hours that our volunteers dedicate to bringing each event to life.

The Fine Print

TEDxJacksonville follows the TED rules for sponsorships. We do not accept contributions from organizations who deal in weapons or ammunition, tobacco products or cigarettes, or adult-oriented products or services. Furthermore, our partners have no editorial control or veto power over our event program, and they are ineligible to present from the stage. TEDxJacksonville speakers are not paid, and no one can pay to be part of our program. Speaker selection is based on the merit of each speaker’s application
