What is TEDx? In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxJacksonville, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxJacksonville event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

[Editor’s note: TEDxJacksonville began as TEDxRiversideAvondale. This was our inaugural conference. In 2013, we became TEDxJacksonville.]

Collective Genius

Collective genius is rooted in collaboration. It’s sparked when thoughtful individuals from diverse disciplines and myriad perspectives come together to share ideas and “crowd source” creative solutions to vexing problems.

The transformative potential of such connections can’t be overstated. (Consider that computers didn’t really change the world until they were all hooked up together.)

We don’t know what lies ahead. But we do know that the future presents problems — and possibilities — so immense that only by combining our individual and collective potential can we hope to master them. Instead of solving problems in isolation, we can and will find solutions through connection and collaboration.
