This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Mama Blue is captivating, grounded and genuine. Her insightful lyrics and renditions, coupled with old school sophistication will take you back…to the future. Her signature sound is reminiscent of legends such as Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughn and Etta James.
Hailing from Jacksonville, a graduate of Douglas Anderson, with a scholarship to Jacksonville University in vocal performance, Mama Blue’s singing is rooted in blues and jazz, with hints of Motown, classical, Latin and even a bit of country. With over 20 years of experience in a variety of genres, her multi-cultured band fits like a glove.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
