David is a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, proud Stanton grad, University of North Florida Osprey alumnus and a former reporter. He’s currently working on his Masters degree at the University of Florida in Gainesville in the Department of Political Science with a focus on public affairs and public policy. He has worked as a staff writer for The Florida Times-Union, as arts and entertainment editor for Folio Weekly magazine and as a pharmacy technician for Mayo Clinic. Currently, he works in Public Affairs for JAX Chamber, the regional chamber of commerce. He still takes an occasional freelance assignment as a writer and writing coach.
David serves as Director of Communications for TEDxJacksonville and enjoys volunteering in the community. He is a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters Northeast Florida and has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus and the Friends of the GTM Reserve in St. Johns County. He is a member of the 2020 class of the Stein Fellowship and served in the Blueprint for Leadership with HandsOn Jacksonville, class of 2015.
David has traveled to more than 18 countries, including two mission trips to rural communities in Peru. His second favorite city in the world is London. His favorite? Jacksonville.
