We use our imagination, our bodies, and our senses to makes the invisible visible. In her TEDxJacksonville talk, Barbara Colaciello explains that improvisation is an integral part of everyone’s education and satisfies our hunger for authenticity.
For the past 16 years, Barbara has produced/directed numerous children’s plays and collaborative theater pieces, initially as the founder/artistic director of Inter-Act, an acting school specializing in improvisation and currently as the Education Director at Players by the Sea Theater based in Jacksonville Beach, FL. As part of PBTS’s outreach initiative, she has developed programming for children with learning disabilities partnering with The Noble School, and The DePaul School.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
